Required Software to Use the Website

Post  FCI Support on Wed May 13, 2009 10:33 am

Is there any special software required to download and access information on the Family Central website? No-

We have worked hard to make sure that the information we place on our website is as compatible to as many users as possible. We test the accessibility of our posted information on Windows, Macintosh and Linux computer operating systems. We also review the look of our posted information on different browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari).

All of our documents for downloading are posted as a PDF (Portable Document Format) which is recognized as the universal document format and does not require a user to match the document with a specific software program. (Example- if we provided a flyer in MS Publisher but if you do not have MS Publisher- you would be unable to view the flyer as a download. However, once we convert the same MS Publisher flyer as a PDF and then post on our site, you can now download and view the flyer). You still need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer and most computers have this program pre-installed. In the event you do not have Adobe Reader or may have an older and unsupported version, you may always download the lastest version for FREE. Along with Adobe Reader, you may also experience difficulties view certain pictures or media files if you do not have Adobe Flash and Media installed. All of these products are FREE and can be downloaded to match your computer's operating system by go to the Adobe website at http://www.adobe.com/

Despite our best attempts to make all our information accessible, we realize that you may experience some problems. Some of these issues may be a result of your anti-virus and spyware programs, your firewall and privacy settings and even your internet connection speed.

Our commitment to website visitors is to provide information that can be readily accessible and viewable by the majority of users. We will try to provide any assistance while realizing some issues may be beyond our ability to correct.
